Introducing Lead Product Designer Behind Sofri

Adesewa Ademeso, our lead product designer behind sofri and lead QA at Sofri. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to live the everyday life of a tech sis, then you’d love this.

Sewa tells us about herself and takes us through her day-to-day life working in the Sofri tech team. Sit back and enjoy!

Describe your job in three words.

Analytical, user-centric, and fun

What did you study in school and how did you transition into your current role?

I have a B. A degree in Communication Arts and 4 years of working experience in tech. I started my career in 2017 in the PR industry as a content writer.

I started first as a social media /content writer then I moved to Natterbase, a software development company in 2018 where I worked as a marketing lead and then I transitioned to tech fully while there.

This is because I was working with a lot of developers and designers and at a point, I started doing Quality Assurance/ Project Management in assisting capacities.

After here I worked at Whitesands, a software dev company as a designer and it was my first official design job. Between then and now, I did a number of freelance, International remote, and contract-based jobs before I started working full-time for Sofri in 2021.

What does your day-to-day role entail?

I am the lead product designer and lead QA so my day to day generally involves designing and optimizing the Software we have.

I think of new ways to improve our app and even design new apps for the company. A repetitive task I handle in my day-to-day is quality assurance testing and documentation for the Sofri app as well as for DLM Asset Management, one of the subsidiaries of the group.

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?

I’d say the coolest thing I’m working on is the Version 2 of the Sofri mobile app. We are adding some new features that are currently not on the app, to ensure a seamless user experience.

To help customers access savings, investments, etc directly from the app. The iteration process of that is quite exciting and I look forward to the launch.

I’m also working on the DLM Asset Management portal   and a few other things in the pipeline so I’m excited about that

What is the best thing about being part of the Sofri Team

Sofri is a very fast-paced environment and I like that the constant iterations will make you think on your feet and put in your best at every point.

What has been your proudest moment while working in your current role at Sofri?

The product launch and seeing my design blasted across app stores and marketing materials gives me a rush of accomplishment.

It feels good to know your work is being seen by the world.

What job would you most like to swap places with for the day?

Communications and marketing, I think. I have a natural flair for it so it’s my thing.

What did you want to grow up to be when you were a kid?

I wanted to be an air hostess. I can still be that though. Lol

What website do you visit the most?

Has to be Google.

Tell us something interesting we don’t know about you.

I am an artist and I do digital illustrations.  I am also a partner realtor with a leading real estate company.
