Susan Ejoh Internship Experience with Links Microfinance Bank

Susan Ejoh

I am Susan Ejoh: I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to complete my National Service Programme with DLM. Over my service year, I have had the privilege of working alongside a dedicated and supportive team. Here is a summary of my experiences and growth during this period.

One of the most significant aspects of my time at DLM has been the substantial growth in my professional skills and knowledge. The environment here provided me with a platform to develop and refine my abilities, e.g., developing interpersonal skills. I have become more quick-witted and tolerant, and this is due to my job allocation, which I believe will be invaluable for my future career.

I am grateful for the guidance and mentorship I received from my colleagues and
supervisor. Their willingness to share their expertise and provide constructive
Feedback has greatly contributed to my growth. Their support has shaped my understanding of the customer service experience and helped me overcome various
challenges.

Throughout my service year, I was entrusted with challenging projects that required
me to think critically and develop problem-solving skills. These experiences pushed
me out of my comfort zone, helping me adapt to new situations and tackle complex
tasks with confidence.

One thing that stood out for me was the collaborative work environment at Dlm
which encouraged open communication and teamwork. The company itself has
provided a safe space, especially with the team bonding events that take place, which I applaud because it has brought us together even in our diversity.

At first, if I am being honest, I felt completely alienated, but I became familiar with the positive company culture, which fostered a sense of belonging and motivation. I felt like a valued member of the team, which encouraged me to consistently perform at my best.

The only challenge I can think of is the lack of water dispensers and the poor
maintenance and hygiene of our restroom in the customer service department.
In conclusion, My National Service programme with Dlm has been enriching and
transformative experience.

The skills and experiences I have gained during this time have equipped me with a strong foundation for my future career endeavours. I am confident that the feedback provided here will contribute to the continuous improvement of your internship programme.

Best regards,
