Sofri “Meet the Team” Questions.

Mosunmola Fadumo

Describe your job in three words.

Firefighter, Data, Juggler

Data: My world revolves around data—cleaning it, analysing it, and transforming it into valuable insights that drive decisions. It’s like detective work but with spreadsheets and SQL instead of a magnifying glass.

Firefighter: I don’t fight literal fires but when things go sideways—like data inconsistencies, urgent project changes, or last-minute requests—I’m the one swooping in to put out the flames and keep things running smoothly.

Juggler: Balancing between being a data analyst and a project manager is like juggling flaming swords because I’m constantly switching hats, managing deadlines, delivering reports, and coordinating with teams, all without dropping a beat… or a dataset!

What did you study in school and how did you transition into your current role?

I studied Computer Science Technology in the university. I started my career as a Data analyst and then my knack for spotting details and keeping projects on track naturally led me into Project Management as well. It turns out managing people and data requires the same precision—only now, I’m coordinating tasks and delivering insights, not just cleaning up messy datasets!

What is your day to day like? (What does your role entail?)

First things first—I need my morning coffee! Coffee is life if I do say so myself! Then, it’s straight to checking emails from the previous day. After that, it’s time for stand-up meetings, followed by sync meetings with my engineers to make sure we are on the same page. Then stakeholder meetings to provide updates and ask for any clarifications if needed. Then I move over to the dashboard—ensuring all the numbers are looking right and reporting everything correctly. I also update my line manager on project progress.

What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?

Two subsidiaries are gearing up to expand their businesses with sleek, online platforms. One is designed to let customers easily manage their investments, explore new product offerings, and handle everything themselves—making life way easier. The other is a cutting-edge securities platform where customers can trade currencies and stocks in real time, just like in the Wall Street movies. So, I’m basically helping create several platforms where Gen Zs, Millennials, Baby Boomers, etc, as well as organizations can manage their finances like pros—without all the boring parts!

What is the best thing about being a part of the Sofri Team

We’re constantly pushing boundaries, igniting fresh ideas, and taking on bold challenges. But amidst all the innovation, there’s a grounded sense of teamwork and purpose, where everyone’s strengths come together in harmony. It’s a place where ambition meets precision, and no matter how intense things get, there’s always support to keep everything on track and I feel this is the most important thing in a business- having dependable shoulders to lean on.

What has been your proudest moment while working in your current role at Sofri?

One of my proudest moments was working as a Quality Assurance Analyst during the pre-launch phase of the Sofri Mobile App – First Version. Though my role was brief, our team conducted extensive analysis and user experience testing, treating our staff as potential customers. It was captivating to use their feedback to refine the app before launch, ensuring everything ran smoothly.

Since then, my wings have grown and I can say for a fact that nothing beats reviving struggling projects and watching them blossom into something amazing!

What other job role would you most like to swap places with for the day?

If I could swap roles for a day, I’d definitely go all out and be an Architect—it was my childhood dream! so if there’s an opportunity to be that, I am gunning for that heavily!

Within the company, I’d love to try my hand at being a Finance analyst. There’s something about seeing numbers but in money form that fuels my wild imagination and gives me a strange boost of motivation. Oh, and maybe the media team too—just for the fun of doing shoots and podcasts ONLY and because I have recently started enjoying being in front of the camera!

What did you want to grow up to be when you were a kid?

I always dreamed of becoming an Architect—I craved a challenge that would stretch my creativity to the max because I can be so creative! As a kid, I was completely captivated by the beauty of tall, well-crafted buildings and wondered how they came to life. When it was time for college, I found the perfect architecture program in Covenant University, but my father had other ideas (classic dad move!). So, I joined Babcock University where architecture wasn’t on the menu, so I chose Computer Technology instead.

What website do you visit the most everyday?

YouTube and all the shopping websites!

Tell us something interesting we don’t know about you?

It might not be all that interesting but I simply don’t understand the hype around plantain, I do not fancy it at all. Alot of times, eating it feels like punishment. Also, I am very good at drawing, and my gift-wrapping game is top tier. Lastly, I drive like Lewis Hamilton, if Google Map gives a 20-minute ETA, I say “Hold my Cup” and I’ll get you there in 15 minutes.
